A Room Full of People Who Get It
There is a particular kind of nervousness that comes with the very first steps of starting a business. The idea that keeps you up at night. The question of where to even begin. The quiet worry that you might be the only one who doesn’t already know how this works.
Walk into one of iSE’s Pre-Start Business Workshops and that feeling doesn’t last long.
It’s a room full of aspiring founders, community leaders and changemakers, all in one place, all figuring out how to build something that matters. People who were sat exactly where you are now, months or years ago, and came through the other side with a business, a plan and a support network behind them.
That’s not a one-off event. That’s what happens at iSE, every month.
More Than a Single Workshop
Our Pre-Start Business Workshops run in collaboration with Rizwana Kausar and take place at least once or twice a month, not as a single date to catch or miss, but as an open door that’s there whenever someone is ready to walk through it.
We also work alongside Business Growth West Midlands, whose support helps make sessions like these possible for founders across the region, at no cost to the people attending.
Whether you’re still turning an idea over in your head, or you’ve already taken your first steps and hit a question you can’t answer alone, there’s a seat for you at the next one.
Why Starting Right Matters
Most businesses don’t fail because the idea was wrong. They struggle because the basics, structure, funding knowledge, confidence in the first decisions, weren’t in place early on. Getting the right advice at the very start of the journey changes what happens three, five, ten years down the line.
That’s exactly why iSE exists. We’ve spent over two decades supporting founders and social enterprises across the West Midlands, and the businesses that come through our doors early tend to be the ones still standing, and still growing, years later.
What You Get When You Get in Touch
iSE has business advisors based at our Women’s Enterprise Hub in Birmingham, ready to talk through where you are and what you need next, whether that’s a single question or ongoing support as your business takes shape.
Getting started is simple. Fill out our short business support form and one of our advisors will get back to you, or call in at reception and we’ll point you in the right direction straight away.
