To enable even more people to be part of the IWD #Movement, iSE gave away a bunch of free tickets.

25th February 2025, Birmingham’s Millennium Point came alive with a powerful gathering of changemakers and allies, championing gender equality at the International Women’s Day Conference & Exhibition. iSE were proud to be a part of this #Movement, and hosted a panel of inspiring women (plus one male ally), who have been first in their fields on many occasions. Talking openly about how delivering social impact, is a crucial part of their lives.

Why This Event Matters 

International Women’s Day is more than just a celebration, it continues to be a rallying call to action. Amplifying voices, challenging biases, and creating spaces where women and allies can unite for a more equitable future. Whether you’re a business leader, entrepreneur, student, or advocate, this was an opportunity to be a part of something bigger. 

Our Panel discussed personal experiences of Women Delivering Social Impact

Jakira Khanam – iSE Strategic Lead & expert in developing and delivering multi-country social impact programmes. 

Drew Currie– iSE interim CEO, covered for Cllr Sharon Thompson who was unavailable.

Joanne Anderson – Former Mayor of Liverpool & the first Black woman to be a directly elected mayor in the UK. 

Henriette Breukelaar – Regional Director of the Canal & River Trust, Former CEO of Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP).

Free to Attend Expo – Open to all, this space will host exhibition stands and engaging talks for individuals, small businesses, and young women looking for inspiration and direction.
